Melted Crayon Art

As for many women out there, Pinterest has become my favourite waste of time. I came across this project on Pinterest and fortunately my friend Stephanie wanted to try it too. So if we failed we failed together! I think it turned out pretty well!

Supplies you will need :
Canvas
Crayons
Hot Glue Gun
Hair Dryer
Silhouette (Optional)

My goal was to make the canvas look like rain with the silhouette people standing in the rain. My friend on the other hand just put a wooden letter S and matched the colours to her room. Because I wanted my canvas to look like rain I ordered a custom pack of crayons from Crayola.com and you can choose 4 colours so I choose 4 different blue.

I then outlined and colored in the silhouette.

Then, using the hot blue gun, I glued on the blues in random to look like rain.

Here it is with all the crayons.

I then covered the silhouette that was under the umbrella.

Melting the crayons with the hair dryer was a lot of fun. It took a little while to learn the best way to blow dry it, to get the look you want.

Keep melting until you get the look that you want. It does take a while.

Remove the cover and show off your art work! I think next time I do it, it will turn out a lot better, now that I know how the crayons melt and what works best.
